IABG<\/strong><\/a> was formally constituted in 1954<\/strong> during the 8th<\/sup> International Botanical Congress<\/strong> held in Paris, constituting the official organization for botanic gardens and arboreta all over the world.<\/p>\n

The fundamental aims of this association are to promote international cooperation<\/strong> between these institutions, to promote the study of taxonomy of plants<\/strong> and to promote documentation and exchange of information, living plants and specimens<\/strong> between botanic gardens, with special regards to plant conservation issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
